Le retour de l´écureuil volant (Polatouche de Sibérie), Finlande.
Un exemple parfait de la résilience de la vie sauvage, cette capacité de rebondir suite à de lourdes perturbations. Certaines populations de Polatouches reviennent dans certaines forêts Finlandaises. Il y a encore beaucoup à faire pour protéger l´habitat de cette incroyable espèce mais ce retour est un espoir. Et nous avons besoin d´espoir !

A perfect exemple of the resilience of wildlife, this capacity to recover from tough pressures. Some populations of flying squirrels are back in patches of Finnish forests. There is still lot to do to protect the habitat of this unique species but this come-back is surely bringing hope! And we do need hope!

Appâter des animaux sauvages sans raison à part pour les photographier plus facilement : je suis totalement contre ce type de pratique. C´est malheureusement largement répandu en Europe, et rarement précisé sous les images. Ici en Finlande, la plupart des images de prédateurs terrestres par les photographes de “nature” sont réalisés grâce à des appâts. Il n´y a pas grand-chose de naturel dans ces images, mais c´est mon point de vue ! Images de 2015, je n´y mets plus les pieds et je n´utilise pas cette pratique.<br />

I am totally against baiting wildlife, there is no good reason behind baiting. Unfortuntealy, it´s a widepread practice in Europe and rarely shared in the pictures captions. Here in Finland, most of the pictures of predators are made using baits. It´s called “wildlife photography” but I am not sure if this is really about wildlife...
