Seals predators

Orques aux îles Shetland, Écosse.

En plus de découvrir cet archipel qui regorge de vie, pister les orques pour un documentaire était bien évidemment l´une des raisons pour laquelle les îles Shetland étaient au programme. Il existe seulement quelques groupes d´orques qui sont observés dans ces eaux. Les orques y sont assez élusives, elles y disparaissent aussi rapidement qu´elles sont apparues pour rejoindre les eaux du large. La présence de nombreux phoques expliquerait le passage de ces familles.

In addition of discover this archipelago full of wildlife, tracking the killer whales (orca) for a documentary was obviously the reason why the Shetland was part of my plans. There are only few groups of orca sighted in these waters. Very elusive, they vanish as fast as they appeared to the North Atlantic offshore waters. The presence of many seals in the Shetland could explain why these pods are passing by.
